Signing Together

(Signing Together)

Signing Together is an opportunity to learn how to communicate each other by learning the ASL Sign Languages. This is for anyone to participate rather you are hearing or deaf or have disabilities. Communication is the Key!!

Deaf Culture is based on the vibrant heritage and traditions of the Deaf community.

American Sign Language (ASL) is a language of manual gestures called signs, with its own grammatical structure and syntax. It is a recognized language and the language shared by most Deaf people.

The community is unified based on common experiences of being Deaf in a hearing society, such as: limited accessibility to services, being an oppressed group, isolation, and communication barriers.

Deaf culture includes ASL literature and art, social, political, business and sports organizations, and rules and traditions. Deaf culture meets the definition of a "culture".

Subgroups within the Deaf community are based on communication modes used: Users of American Sign Languages (ASL), Oral Deaf, Signed English and other methods.

Deaf people are visually oriented. Eyes are used not only to communicate, but also to take in environmental and situation stimuli.

ASL is not universal. Each country as its own unique sign language. In the United States, individuals of the Deaf Culture sign in various dialects.

If you have a passion for the Deaf and Deaf/Blind community, then the Deaf Culture Meetup allows you the opportunity to learn ASL. ASL is for everyone and any age! Communication between the hearing and deaf is the "Key".

Break the Bridge of the Deaf and Hearing World to be able to communicate each other and learn, understanding and be "PATIENCE with the Deaf person. Don't talk bad about them or complained about them at work or home. Learn to communicate and learn to be understanding their disability limit of communication. Hearing people take the wrong idea about the Deaf issue of lack of communication skills.

In addition, I am currently offering ASL group or private classes days, nights and weekends. There is a fee and an appointment must be made. Materials provided include homework sheets andpuzzles to help you learn fingerspelling, manual signs, facial expressions and Deaf Culture history. If you are interested in classes, please contact me, Kim Corson, or Sabra Allen in advance at the contact information below.

It is important that both deaf and hearing people associate your name with your face. Therefore, you **MUST** have your picture in your proile or you profile will be deleted in two weeks.

You can reach me via e-mail: isbelrosa2@aol.com or call me on VP: 1-866-950-5796. or Kim Corson at: kdc_corson@yahoo.com and call her for any questions

I enjoyed teaching hearing people to learn the ASL Sign Languages. You must have patience with a deaf or hard of hearing person espeically if you are working with one of the Deaf Employee or have a friends or deaf family or deaf freinds. Must understand their limit of communication.

We need to be a understanding person. Remember I am here to help other Community. If you need my or Kim advice. Feel free to call me or Kim anytime. We are here to help others. Lets Reach out!! Let me know what I can do to help you or other. Espeically College Students who really need the extra credit to learn ASL Sign Languages, a family who have hearing children with CODA and Deaf parents or deaf family or friends. WE LOVE our children, family and friends.

I will more than happy to teach you but I do charge for private lesson or we could come up with a Group of Classes but they would have to pay for classes. Is hard work. But if you joined our meetup Signing-Together is free as long we can get more people together and we could start a meetup group like Coffee place to have our own ASL Signing-Together. Song would be excellant learning. Let me know what you need and we can meet. Thanks”
