Please watch video lectures before coming to the discussion. We'll discuss basic concepts in unit 3 and unit 4, such as Bayes rules, Bayes net, as well as how to apply them. If you have questions from unit 1 or unit 2, feel free to ask them.

Introduction to AI is 27 chapters and about 1062 pages. ( I use my copy as one of multiple references ) The Introduction to AI class is more of a survey of AI, just as a one year 200 level undergraduate biology sequence is a survey of biology. Each of the three topics ML, NLP, and Markov processes is large by itself. Is the purpose of the first meeting to survey and discuss peoples interests and needs?

It's true the AI class is a survey. I found it builds an excellent foundation. After AI class, it took me a very short time to complete the Udacity Robotics class which was also taught by Sabastian. In sum, this study group focuses on understanding basic concepts and how to apply them.

I'm also wondering how far you all are with the Udacity course?

Which units should we review before the first study group meeting?
