Large-Scale, Interactive Data Mining & Machine Learning with Adatao

This week Christopher Nguyen, co-founder & CEO of Adatao, will introduce interactive and real-time large scale big-data analytics without requiring use or knowledge of MapReduce. In addition, Adatao is looking to hire great systems software engineers who have a strong background in machine learning.

At the meetup, Christopher will demo Adatao PredictiveInsights and PredictiveAnalytics, a "Big Compute" predictive analytic solution for "Big Data". Features include web-based reporting/visualization/publishing (“basic analytics”) by Business Analysts, as well as real-time, interactive data mining and machine learning (“advanced analytics”) on large data sets by Data Scientists. What used to take hours are now routinely accomplished in seconds, enabling use cases not previously possible. He will present architecturally how this was accomplished using Spark/Shark/HDFS and other subsystems, with R/R-Studio and Python scriptable front-ends. He will also discuss some use cases where large enterprises are successfully deploying this solution, and lessons learned.

Bio: Christopher Nguyen is co-founder & CEO of Adatao, with the vision of moving the industry beyond "Big Data as a Problem" to "Big Data as an Opportunity", by bringing Predictive Business Intelligence to the enterprise. He is a former engineering director of Google Apps, a recipient of the Google Founders' Award, a Stanford PhD who co-founded two enterprise startups with successful exits, and was a professor of Computer Engineering at HKUST. Christopher has extensive experience building technology startups that solve enterprise business challenges.
