JR Rivers is a good speaker, very engaging. Loved the crowd, the questions and the enthusiasm. Good mix of people from the industry. Interesting discussions. still wondering about their business model. Seems like other vendors are dropping different OS's onto the switches. Isn't Pluribus doing something similar. Understand that Cumulus OS adds flexibility, but any OS on the switch can provide this, right.

    Can i get the presentation?

Sridhar, thanks for the response. Oh, this is new for me. I didn't realize that Pluribus was now shipping the OS separate from their hardware bundle. Cool! Of course, I'm curious as to what the reality is in actual deployment of the Pluribus OS on white box ODM switches. The Cumulus example of ripping out the Cisco OS on the switches and dropping in their Linux OS really excites the imagination. Look forward to hearing more from you. Hope to chat with you at the next meetup.

Also, I totally missed that the Cumulus solution required the use of the HW supplier's SDK.

    JR Rivers presentation here.

That bash script example from slide 13 was fascinating to me. I would like to get other opinions on that. This was my first SDN meetup and I was really surprised by the level of enthusiasm.

Just saw that Open Daylight released Hydrogen. Was talking to some people at OpenContrail from Juniper. See that HP has it's own VAN SDN controller. I'm still trying to figure out how this space works together. Would love to know what companies compete over what pieces of the SDN architecture and which pieces of the most momentum.

Used to manage an ISP datacenter 15 years ago, but have not managed datacenter network hardware since then. Much has changed. I'm primarily interested in the applications that SDN makes possible. Also, does anyone have extra free tickets to the OpenDaylight Summit, Feb 4th and 5th in Santa Clara?
