Pricing plays a critical role in the business model of any business enterprise.  Pricing is arguably the most powerful tool in any entrepreneur's marketing arsenal.

Pricing is especially critical for tech or content-related startups that emphasize user acquisition over immediate revenue generation.

Our speaker  will explore the pricing issues  that can make or break any startup.

An engaging speaker, Mark explores with his audiences this least understood yet most powerful concept:  the correlation of pricing to value. This elusive link profoundly impacts the success or failure of every business.

As a pricing consultant, Mark’s goal for clients mirrors that of every individual entrepreneur or multinational firm:  to generate more profit and grow revenue through effective pricing practices.

Mark’s blog, PragmaticPricing.com, introduces readers to the finer points of this significant subject. Through anecdotes that hit a universal nerve and arrow-sharp questions that define universal problems, Mark’s pithy explanations offer insights and information to novice or pro. His comments combine the practical and profound overlaid with a sense of humor and a genuine love for his field.

 

As a practitioner, Mark is currently the Director of Pricing at Maxim Integrated, a $2.5B semiconductor company, where he transforms pricing throughout the organization.  He has worked with many companies including National Semiconductor, Cisco, Proctor and Gamble, Grimes Aerospace, Rogers Corporation and many small businesses.  He continues to coach entrepreneurs and product managers on how to use pricing in developing their product portfolios.

As an educator, Mark consistently earns stellar ratings for his 2 day pricing course customized for specific corporations.  He taught pricing to MBAs at The Ohio State University, and he continues to teach through his writing.

Mark earned his Ph.D. in Pricing (Marketing) from U.C. Berkeley.  His pricing research has been published in top tier marketing journals like Management Science and the Journal of Consumer Research.
