Ruby and iOS: An inside look In this presentation, Jeanine will talk about developments in the mobile space utilizing the Ruby programming language.  Code samples, apps using RubyMotion and MobiRuby will be discussed. 

Jeanine Swatton, Technology Evangelist at

Jeanine develops mobile apps and web applications. She has always been passionate about technology. She is currently the Technology Evangelist/Community Manager for, a platform for deploying and running your Rails apps with the option of your own virtual servers.   She taught iOS development and Ruby on Rails at a few universities. She is an iOS developer and Ruby developer. She is a member of Women in Technology International, the Society of Women Engineers as well as Computer Users Educator Organization. She is a huge advocate for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) programs.  One of her passions is to educate students, including students from underrepresented or disadvantage groups to excel in engineering.  She organizes the Women in Technology meetup, Silicon Valley Ruby on Rails Meetup, and the East Bay Ruby Meetup.  She is also a Technical Mentor for high school students at Technovation.
