It's bittersweet times for Silicon Vikings Copenhagen: Rainmaking has kindly offered their venue and drinks for the participants so this is the inaugural Startup Night at Rainmaking. Unfortunately, this means that we have had to say goodbye to our friends at Republikken.

So.. Silicon Vikings Copenhagen and Rainmaking would like to invite you to our 12th Startup Night! Usually on the first Thursday of every month, we invite one hot Danish startup to answer the four questions:

  • Who are you and your company?
  • What is the status and the plan?
  • What have been the biggest bumps on the road?
  • What is it like to be an entrepreneur in Denmark?
  • we allow their creativity to run wild by allowing them one topic of their choice!

This time around on Thursday December 5, Martin LeBlanc Eigtved takes the stage. Martin is the CEO and founder of Iconfinder. Which is actually 6 years old but Martin and his team have bootstrapped all the way up to 2011. In 2012 Iconfinder raised a 1.5M USD round from VF Venture and 500 Startups. Iconfinder is Google for icons and has 2M unique visits pr. month. It connects designers of icons with buyers of icons in an online marketplace. In 2012 Iconfinder joined the famous Silicon Valley accelerator 500 Startups and has prospered every since.

Come join us at this casual after-work event in the lovely and inspiring atmosphere at Rainmaking who will also provide drinks to everyone!

Rainmaking is a ”company factory” – we launch start ups, build them into solid businesses, and eventually exit them. We started out in 2006, and have so far launched 15 start ups. 3 of them have been exited to industry leaders and a large capital fund, providing us with a foundation to invest in more ideas and projects. Today we run a portfolio of 10 companies with a total of 100 team members in our offices in Copenhagen, London and Berlin. Since 2010, we have invested in another 50 start-ups through Startupbootcamp.
