SilverStripe Community Meetup

Common Web Platform, Testing, And Deployment.

It's that time of year again! Come along to hear about the New Zealand Government Common Web Platform, as well as talks on deployment and testing tools, and share thoughts, food, and an after work drink with like-minded SilverStripers.

Rough timings:

5:30 - Doors open

6:00 - Introduction and brief discussion of SilverStripe 3.1*

6:15 - Mateusz Uzdowski, SilverStripe: (a technical talk to developers about) the New Zealand Government Common Web Platform (www.cwp.govt.nz).

6:45 - Cameron Spiers and Stephen Holdaway, Heyday: "beam" deployment tool.

7:15 - Aaron 'Uncle Cheese' Carlino, Heyday: Heytest: An experimental approach to testing websites.

7:45 - Talks finish; feel free to hang around for informal discussion.

*We discussed what was coming in v3.1 at a previous meetup so this time we can celebrate its release.

Note we've changed venue from last meetup; this time we're close by at Electric Avenue.

Videos videos videos! Yes, three, because that's how many recordings of the presentations are now up on Vimeo; see http://www.silverstripe.org/wellingtons-october-meetup-govt-platform-deployment-and-testing/ or just look all them all (there's dozens over the past few years) at http://vimeo.com/silverstripe/videos

Good pizzas and had to rush away after the first session. The first presentation was hidden from view (I was at the back) but I heard everything and it made sense @marteusz =D Can we please have a bigger more open venue next time @sig ;-)

@Daniel: do you know if they provide seating, drinks, and food?

@Sam MonsoonPoon yes absolutely for food, seats yes I think they have for up to 100. It's a good space as its separated from the main restaurant and they have a bar. The theatre has a bar, seating I think. But will probably need to order in food. Wednesday is 10 dollar margaritas from pizza pomadoro - could just order a bunch and then have a platter of bits people can add to there slice. Eg rocket, capers, sundries tomatoes, diced olives, salamis, fig, goats cheese... Sorry now I'm just fantasizing. Otherwise there's always wholly pizza down the bottom of taranaki or the pizza guys just outside ss by burger fuel. I'm suggesting pizza as it looked like everyone liked it.

      Man I love pizza

RSVP if the event is full. I have added a wait list. I will check with the venue later today if we can cater for more people.

Remember to change your RSVP if you cannot make it along tomorrow so that others on the waitlist can fill the spots :)

Does that mean he's willing dress or behave like you on the night? :)

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
