What's next with SilverStripe 3?

After the game is before the game.

With SilverStripe 3.0 now stable we're already working towards v3.1. We'll have a look into what's coming next.

Sigurd Magnusson, co-founder of SilverStripe, cover briefly what we put into v3.0, and will have a look at the roadmap for further product development. We have our own ideas, we have work from the Google Summer of Code project, and, we'd love to get your feedback also.

Cameron Findlay, a freelance IT consultant and dedicated SilverStripe community member talks about: "The SilverStripe Developer Community: A Retrospective". Cam is looking into the question on what it takes to grow an open source community. What can we do to make the SilverStripe community a better place to be?

Second part of the meetup will be a little brainstorm with you. We are looking for your ideas on how we can foster the community. What can we all do to get more active contributors? Your ideas are needed.

This will be the night before the WDCNZ in Wellington. Come along for the SilverStripe Meetup if you are in town. We are looking forward to seeing you!

Drinks and nibbles are on us. Go up the stairs to a sign-posted function room to find us.

We weren't quite as many people as usual, but the ones who were there were very active and interested. The participation was great and it was nice to see some new faces.

See you all tonight, to give you a taster, I will be discussing the social learning/knowledge management framework of "Communities of Practice" and how it may relate to us as an open source community. For a quick intro you can consult our old friend wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Co...
