Details
We will meet at 7PM. Pizzas and beers provided and our talks will start at 7.30PM.
Talk 1: The power of Cloud Foundry on your laptop (Dapeng Liu)
PCF Dev is a distribution of Cloud Foundry designed to run on a developer’s laptop or workstation. It gives application developers the full Cloud Foundry experience in a lightweight, easy to install package. It is also intended for application developers who wish to develop and debug their application locally on a full-featured Cloud Foundry.
PCF Dev is also an excellent getting started environment for developers interested in learning and exploring Cloud Foundry.
In this presentation Liu Dapeng (http://www.verydapeng.com) will provide a step-by-step installation and setup of PCFDev, in addition to run demos that shows the nice features of PCFDev.
Talk 2: configuring your microservices (Stephan February (https://sg.linkedin.com/in/stephanfeb))
According to the Third Principal of Twelve Factor Applications, we should store our configuration in the environment. This is especially useful in a microservices architecture where you can have dozens of small applications that need to be configured. Stephan February will be presenting a talk on how to use the Config Server facility in Pivotal CloudFoundry to achieve an externalised, cloud-based application configuration.
Stephan February is a Software Engineer at Pivotal Labs Singapore
