In this session you will gain insights about how organisations think about the future. In a closer look at extrapolation as one classical way of predicting the future you will learn what benefits and dangers lie in curve-based predictions and what models exist to explain and improve the accuracy of curves in modeling the future.
Speaker Bio
Thomas Martin is the CEO of Forward Intelligence Group and a thought leader in management consulting, strategy, business development, entrepreneurship, innovation and future thinking.
During his more than 20 years business manager, management and IT consultant he has helped multi-national companies in the US, Europe, Africa and Asia to develop and refine their strategies, decision making processes and technology portfolios.
As an entrepreneur and manager at A.T. Kearney, Capgemini and Microsoft he started and managed several business units and functions up to USD162m that created new revenue streams, increased profitability and grew customer loyalty. He has created several services innovations and managed a services innovation portfolio for several years.
He holds an MBA from European Business School in Germany and is a member of the IEEE Computer, Strategic Management and World Future Societies.

Mathew Maavak is a strategy consultant who specializes in interdisciplinary studies, foresight and, defense and security. His latest assignment included co-drafting Malaysia's National Nanotechnology Policy, which, is scheduled to be passed by an Act of Parliament in H2 2013. He hold an MA in International Communications from the University of Leeds.
