About the speaker:

Tom Mortimer, co-founder of Flax (http://www.flax.co.uk/) with Charlie Hull, has many years experience working in search software and has led development of many large, high-performance search systems for clients across the world.

Tom oversees all Flax development projects. He is a skilled programmer, experienced system administrator and aspiring Scrum Master. Tom has organised and co-directed "hack days", hands-on, open-format training events based around Solr and Elasticsearch, and has presented research at the British Computer Society.
