What a great ride and lunch Saturday. I want to thank the support group: Joe L, Christine, and Clint. Christine you did a great job leading group 2! We all enjoyed meeting all the new members. Also I want to thank Colette for lunch and always being the perfect pillion.
We'll see everyone soon on the next SMR ride on July 28th to Port Costa. Also if anyone is interest we are hosting a ride on:
to Southern California coming up this weekend. 3 day ride to tour Malibu and the Santa Monica Mountains. Pack your saddle bags, it is not too late to join us.
Thank you everyone for another successful SMR ride.

We want to welcome new members or first time riders with SMR:
Chris, Doug Picard, Nihhil, Ann, Martin, and Athena
We will stage in the lower back parking lot behind Starbucks. Please, please arrive with a full tank of gas. There is a Chevron Gas station at the corner.
Looking forward to seeing everyone's smiles in the morning. It will be a great day of riding.

Very astute, Dave :) Some rides are limited by the number of people and some by the number of bikes.
On a people limited ride the wait list advances in order.
On a bike limited ride a Pillion can jump the wait list as she didn't add to the bike count. All bike limits are predicated on the number of trained Leads & Sweeps available on that ride.
This particular event doesn't yet have a lunch spot nailed down. But also I only see two superbly trained, excellent, you are entirely safe in their care, Leads on this ride :)
A long way to say, 'we dunno yet' :) Although, don't be too disheartened. The wait list tends to move fast several days before a ride. And welcome to SMR, Dave! You're going to love this group!

When meetup moved the rsvp comments down into the conversation section it blew our request/offer system apart. Prior to that only a gal who was a Yes rsvp had the ability to request a seat.
We are struggling to find a way that works and is fair when a ride is limited by the number of bikes [when a ride is limited by the number of people there is no question].
Our ideas are trial & error until we find what works. LOL, we haven't found it yet :)
Jim and Ron S both graciously offered their seats.... many days ago! And the gals on the Yes list haven't taken them up on their kind offer. So hey, giving the Yes gals first dibs apparently isn't the answer.
One thing I do know, proactive gals get seats.
So for the purpose of another trial until it errs we're going to move all the pillions up to a Yes. Is it fair for a pillion who signs on weeks later to be in the same position? I don't know. Any ideas?
We're just trying our best to "leave no woman behind" :)
