Six Figure Single Mom Are you a professional mom raising a child or children on your own, trying to balance motherhood, “fatherhood”, career/business, family, and social life (if there’s any room for one!)? Are you tired of other “career women” groups because there is always an element of your life that they JUST DON’T UNDERSTAND? See if the categories of women below sound familiar: The other single mom who can’t relate to you professionally: You may have friends or relatives who are single moms. You can converse with them about your children, being a mother, and the “struggle of single-parenthood”. However, that particular single mother can’t quite relate to you when it comes to your career, and some of the stresses and sacrifices you experience at your career level. All they know is you are “doing well”, so you shouldn’t have any “complaints” about your career or business. The child-less career women: Then there are the women out there who CAN relate to you on a professional level. They understand the competitive nature of the business, interaction with clients, the intensity of meeting project deadlines, and the “go-get-‘em” ambition that fuels you daily. You can vent to them at the end of your day about the horrible day you had, and they would completely understand. But unfortunately, if they don’t have children, they cannot relate to the “other half” and most important part of your life, being a MOM. These women travel at the drop of a hat, for business AND pleasure. They attend all social functions, date regularly, and have all of their quarterly vacations planned to exotic locales that never include the words “Disney”, or “Family”! The Career Mom-WHO’S MARRIED: Last but not least, you found a woman who can almost relate to you 100%. She’s a professional AND a MOM!! Whoohooo! You can talk to her about your kids…she understands. You can talk to her about your day at work…she can relate. However, unfortunately she has a spouse (well, fortunately for HER). That means, she may not relate to having ONE income and EVERYTHING that comes along with that-The evaluation (or re-evaluation) of all decisions, because they are made based on one income. The balance of home life and career, because you can’t say “Honey, can you pick up the kids today”, or “Honey, can you pick up/cook dinner tonight since I’m working late?”. They get SEX and companionship on a regular basis! Oh, and they have social events with other COUPLES, but you are invited of course (fifth wheel anyone?) There are other “Career Women” organizations out there; you may even be a member of some of them. But more often than not, they are filled with the type of women mentioned above. Why join Six-Figure Single Moms? • To socialize and network with other women whom you have at least three things in common with: Being single, being a mom, and having a successful career or business. • To support and relate to each other • To mentor other single mothers who may not be as fortunate, or who have not yet reached our level of success. You may ask, do you have to make at least $100,000/yr to join? Is this group about how much money you make?? Well, the answer is yes and no. Making six-figures is more about your career path and choices, as opposed to merely a monetary figure. For example, if you make a six-figure salary or close to it, you are probably a manager/executive, consultant, physician, attorney, business-owner, specialist, or some other profession which required a certain level of sacrifice and ambition to achieve. Ultimately, we want this group to consist of a group of like-minded women, who can relate to each other wholeheartedly when it comes to their profession, and single-motherhood. Meetups: We may meet 1-2 times per month. Some meetups will include our children, and some will be for Adults-only. Some meetups will have more of a social theme, and some will have a professional theme. Some will be hosted in our homes, and some will occur in pubic venues.
