Meet at the Dog Park

Coming from Washington Avenue, immediately after you pass Presumbscot Street, look to the left for a SMALL brown sign for the dog park.   Immediately after you enter the driveway, look for a gate on your left.  Pass thru the first gate and look to your left for the secondary gate that gives access to the small dog enclosure.  It is visible from the street.

****Please be sure to "reserve," that is, let others know you are        going.  If no one else reserves, I won't go either.  The idea is that when you participate, your dog will have another dog to play with. *****

If you have any problems with the facility, please add your voice and call Nathan Robins, park ranger, 797-4597.  He is part time, so ask him to call you back.

I don't think I'm going to be at the dog park for a month or so....TOO MUCH MUD! I'll be going to the East End beach instead. Once the mud clears up, I'll be much more willing to go back to Quarry Run. Too much work cleaning up afterward...the car, the dog, the house, me, my clothes...

Please join me at the monthly meeting of the Portland Parks Commission to describe the problems we've been having at the Quarry Run Dog Park. April 3, Thursday 5-6:30 pm at Public Services 55 Portland Street. This is our opportunity to share our experiences and photos since none of our communications have produced any response whatsoever.

Unfortunately, the "snow/gate" problem will be gone about then...

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
