PLEASE NOTE: This event is for those coming to dinner first at Damon's Steakhouse. If you will **NOT** be coming to dinner ;) please sign up for the *other* version of the event!
Overview: The group will meet for dinner at 6pm Damon's Steakhouse, located at 317 N. Brand Boulevard in Glendale, then go just next door (out the back of Damon's) to see classic comedy "The Man Who Came to Dinner" at the Glendale Centre Theatre located at 324 N. Orange Street.
PLEASE don't RSVP 'Yes' unless you intend to purchase a ticket immediately; also, please make sure there are still spots left before you purchase your ticket.
Dinner: The group will meet for dinner at 6pm Damon's Steakhouse, located at 317 N. Brand Blvd. in Glendale. The back leads onto a large parking lot (note: you have to pay to park most of the time) which then leads to the theatre, so it's about a 2 minute walk away! You can find their menu here (note it includes some vegetarian options, though they are quite limited).
The play: At 8pm the group will see classic comedy "The Man Who Came to Dinner" by George Kaufman and Moss Hart, at the Glendale Centre Theatre located at 324 N. Orange Street. The play starts at 8pm, but please note this theater has open seating and doors usually open at about 7pm, so the dinner group will join the non-dining group outside the theater at 7:30 and go inside then! Sheridan Whiteside (played by Andrew Prine), an eccentric and acid-tongued radio lecturer, is disabled on the doorstep of a prominent Ohio family and must remain confined to the unwilling family's home for a few days. Discovering what he believes to be problems within the household, Sheridan ("Sherry") discovers his leg is fine. Bribing the doctor to declare him unfit to leave for a few weeks, Sherry hatches a plot to fix all all of the household's problems. But has he made a mistake?
Tickets: Full price tickets cost $25 and can be purchased from the theater website. There are reduced prices for children and students. Discount tickets are not usually available for this theater's productions (and if you try waiting, often as not the performance sells out!) So PLEASE purchase your ticket when you RSVP, rather than waiting! :-)
Parking: There's a lot of parking in this area, though most of it (including street *and* lot parking) is metered. So please check all posted signs to find out if you need to pay or not! There is also a lot just down the street (one block south on Orange, on the east side of the street just south of California) that used to have (and probably still has) cheap validated parking for the theater for up to 4 hours, but please check before leaving your car!
