I am currently reading Midnight's Children by Salman Rushdie
Donna Tart (Secret History) is probably my favourite novel, also enjoy reading Margaret Atwood. I have also started to read more Charles Dickens.
I enjoy reading a mixture of classics as well as new books. I don't really enjoy 'formulaic chick lit', instead preferring books that make me think, teach me something new, set in a different culture. I do like a good plot though! It would be good to explore books I would not normally select.
If you say you are going to attend - then you should attend. If youI RSVP "YES" but do not show up more than twice without letting anyone know, I may be asked to leave the group.
I would be interested to read The Unconsoled, I have read a nuber of books by Ishiguro including Remains of the Day and more recently A Pale View of Hills. Both books seem to focus on loss, regret and inaction any yet are set in entirly different places and times. I love his stye of writing which is so engrossing and yet also leaves so very much unsaid and unresolved for the reader to make their own conclusions.
My name is Sarah and I hae recently moved to Richmond from the UK. Love reading and would like to meet new people.
