Like myself, I have met with many women who have faced a multitude of barriers and challenges in their lives by the time they’ve reached their mid 30’s. We find ourselves becoming girlfriends, wives, mothers, employees, and many of the other prestigious titles that women hold. I’m not saying that being any of these things are negative, but they are definitely barriers; barriers that keeps us from being identified as individuals.
We place ourselves second to everyone we care for and before we know it, we’ve lost our true identity. Then one day, we wake up, look in the mirror and ask ourselves, “Where did all the time go?”, “Who am I?”, “How did I get here?” and the most important, “Exactly, what is my purpose in life?”
These questions are rooted from the many changes we’ve endured in our lives, such as finding after many years or maybe even after a few in what we thought was a happy marriage, all of sudden comes to a halt and we feel as if the carpet has been ripped out from under us. We may be faced with unforeseen medical issues, emotional or physical trauma that causes us to “believe” that we are unworthy, inadequate, or maybe even unattractive. These stories that we tell ourselves can fray away at our self esteem and our self worth. Whatever obstacle that can cause a semblance of imbalance in our lives, can be a very scary, unsure, and definitely a challenging time for any woman to face alone.
But, the power to overcome these challenging times already exists within us, sometimes we just need to be shown the way. Therefore, I am inviting you to join me for a series of exciting, inspirational and motivational adventures as we seek our authentic selves and to learn to LET GO of any anchors that could be holding us back.
We’ll take it slow and learn together as we implement the great outdoors as a metaphor to our own life. We’ll experience new challenges and barriers, such as walking in the rain, getting a little dirty, and affirming our needs and wants by vocalizing it out loud. By stepping out of your comfort zone, this allows you to breakthrough old patterns and behaviors replacing it with new, healthier thoughts and perspectives. This process serves to “awaken” the strength, courage and wisdom that already resides in YOU and empowers each individual to reach their full potential.
So, bring a friend and come with me as we slowly explore shaded, ferned trails through the Snoqualmie region, stopping briefly along the way to reflect back on our personal venture as we make our way up through gentle slopes.
When we’re done, we’ll gather back together for a healthy lunch and share our experiences and support each other through any challenges that may have manifested through the first few steps of this life long journey. Take the first step by stepping outside yourself.
