An intro presentation (or share some resources on here?)

I'm a machine learning guy but a novice at GPGPU. I know I can find stuff online, but I would be much obliged to hear suggestions about how to get started, particularly regarding algorithms that are worthwhile implementing as a first cut or really good books, tutorials, websites, courses, notes, etc. And if there's any chance about a crash course meetup, that would rock.
