Due to overwhelming attendance we're moving the event to a larger space, the Loft at Liz's. It is an awesome space that everyone in LA must see once. We will have a few guest speakers giving short talks on the exciting stuff they're working on in node.js. We'll send out details on the speakers shortly.
Because this is our very first event we'll be providing dinner and drinks. Should be a fun time for all. Come and bring a friend.
Entrance: The "hidden" entrance is in the alley just West of La Brea (enter through 6th). Look for the sign that says "The Loft at Liz's".
Parking: Free on La Brea after 7pm as well as on 4th and 6th streets. There are also a few choice spots available in the back alley for those who arrive early.

@Will_Mason we're trying to figure out the best location for the Oct MeetUp. We will consider CoLoft. Thanks.

we apologize for the video quality. It was our first time filming a MeetUp and we learned a lot for next time as far as lighting, sound, projector images, etc. We're looking into upgrading the quality of the video.

If the Nodejs meetup ever needs space, I volunteer our offices at Curious Minds on Sunset blvd. We've got plenty of space, parking, video cameras, beer and anything else needed. We're hosting the Ruby meetup tonight btw. :)

Can the October one be at CoLoft? Or if its going to be streamed/recorded.... Can someone please do it in higher quality. I'm so sad I couldn't make it, and even more sad the video is nearly un watchable :(

Best meetup I've been to in LA. Hugely surprised and impressed by the quantity and quality of attendees. Had some great conversations with smart people... it was proof they exist in LA!!! (even if a few might have been from elsewhere.)

It was an awesome Meetup and definitely will be there in October.
Though I got there late due to traffic so if someone can post the slides from yesterday that would be helpful !

Great speakers. Neat Technology. Awesome Crowd.
Would have been four stars if the second wave of beer didn't turn out to be Blue Moon and New Belgium :)

Thanks to everyone who attended. Awesome event and great turnout! Speakers were amazing! Lets do this again in October!

See y'all at the late part of the Meetup.

Anyone streaming would be fantastic. We are going to record but will not be real-time. Please see Quinn or me and we'll give you a good seat.
August 4, 2011
If nobody else is planning on streaming it, I can probably send out a stream using my ustream.tv account, provided I get a good location to sit that has a good view and power.

I'm a startup CTO looking for talented developers interested in social games development, HTML5, and node.js. If this event ends up too crowded, feel free to followup with me later. mailto: [masked]

It's not Node.js that's hot. It's this magical phrase: "Because this is our very first event we'll be providing dinner and drinks." They could be talking about Windows 98 for all I care. :) Well, seriously, I've got some interest in this, although I suspect it's in the same space as Perl's POE, so I might just stay with that.
August 4, 2011
Didn't realize Node.js is that hot .. 200+ attendees .. wow!
A little self plug here. I'm a startup co-founder & we are looking for iPhone & Blackberry developers to bring on board as consultants.
If anyone is interested I'll be at the meetup or you can catch me on twitter.
