William McBride is a Professor of the UCLA Medical School Department of Radiation Oncology. His research focuses on the effects of radiation on the degradation of proteins and its implications for the development and progression of certain cancers. He is an expert in the development of countermeasures and treatments for damage from radiological and nuclear sources. Throughout the Fukushima Daiichi crisis, he has been a resource for public understanding of radiation health risks, appearing on CBN, KTLA, and KABC, as well as being interviewed for numerous publications.
