Humanity as a Multiplanet Species

Humanity as a Multi-planet Species...

Neither Magic* nor Science Fiction: Our children will colonize other planets.  I will talk about the Advanced Propulsion Technologies, beyond mere rocket science, that will get them there. I will touch upon combinations of: Mass Drivers; Scramjets; Nuclear Engines; Light Sails; Plasma Drives; and maybe even Exotic Physics strategies such as Negative Matter, Space Warps, and Wormholes; that will take us to the planets and eventually the stars.

On Monday Aug 27th, in addition to the usual 6:30PM dinner and 7:00PM talk, there will be an opportunity to meet and network with other attendees from 6:00PM to 7:00PM in the Doubletree Club no-host bar. But you must Register for this IEEE-OCCS talk via Eventbrite here:

https://occs-120827.eventbrite.com/

This will be fun.

For those who choose to dine with us, the sumptuous repast will be Beef Stroganoff:
Tender strips of Beef and Mushrooms cooked in Sour Cream Sauce and served over noodles.  Served with Fresh Season Vegetables, warm rolls and butter, fresh brewed coffee, decaffeinated coffee, hot herbal tea and iced tea and chef’s choice of dessert. Full bar service available.

*Clarke's Three Laws of prediction formulated by the British writer and scientist Arthur C. Clarke are:

  1. When a distinguished but elderly scientist states that something is possible, he is almost certainly right. When he states that something is impossible, he is very probably wrong.
  2. The only way of discovering the limits of the possible is to venture a little way past them into the impossible.
  3. Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Hope to c-ya'll there,

Dr. Don V Black, Visionary
