March Sigma Xi meeting

Two weeks out, guys. Get those reservation in and checks out to John ASAP.

Whadaya want to do with spent nuclear reactor fuel? Keep it around forever? Convert it via postprocessing into something more manageable? Can we? If it's technically feasible, is it affordable? Can we squeeze more useable energy out of it? Then what? And the world's radioactive medical waste is no longer a rare curio. It's a problem? Yep, it's a problem.

If we lack the technical and economic ability (or will) to render the wastestuff harmless, should a part of our planet be declared as international radioactive wasteland? Maybe it's not just a science fiction scenario!

Scary!

Come hear Mikael Nilsson address the matter.
