Preferred greater LA/SF valley venues?

Hello all,

I know everyone is looking forward to a busy summer and all! I would like your help- in trying to keep my promise to bring Science Cafe events to the greater LA area including the San Fernando Valley, I would like your opinion on where would be good locales for you if I could plan events in these aforementioned areas. Currently, I am planning a summer SoCal Science Cafe event series in the Glendale area (keep your eyes peeled!). Any other recommended favorite places you frequent that are good spots for a Science Cafe event?

In my event series I plan on providing a 10-15 minute video or talk on a topic of interest and then opening it up to public discussion. Places like the Barnes and Noble in the Americana Mall in Glendale are a nice venue for this type of event- I'm going to try to see if they'll partner with me on this. Any other places you can think of in the west SF Valley area or the Westside (Santa Monica/Westwood/Culver City and the like) or downtown that you think would also work out? Let me know and I'll try to plan similar events there. I'll do all the leg-work if you help find places. This way your ideas can help to spread the wealth! It has already been recommended that I do this in a bar as well- as long as there is space, I'm game- though I would also like to have some in family-friendly (i.e. get kids in on the discussion too!) venues as well.

Your input will greatly help keep this wonderful group going! We are made up of scientists, lay-people and citizen-scientists who all share a common interest in science. Provide your ideas and I'll see what I can do to make this all happen! I look forward to hearing from you!

Cheers!
Paul

P.S. Stay tuned for more SoCAl Science Cafe events coming soon!
