LET'S CELEBRATE SUMMERTIME WITH A POOL PARTY AND BACKYARD SOCIAL AT ED'S HOUSE !!

LAST YEAR THERE WERE NEARLY 150 PEOPLE IN ATTENDANCE !!

It's time once again to head on over to Ed's party place in Villa Park (next to the City of Orange) for another wonderful daylong celebration of relaxation and socializing.
We've had great fun with our previous successful track record of house party events, so now it's time to continue the 2026 house party season with "Summertime All Day Pool Party and Backyard Social Happy Hour."

Here's the deal: Come on over starting at NOON and bring your $5.00 courtesy admission fee for the post-party house cleanup, your favorite party drink, some appetizers to share, and of course your bathing suit and towel, and we'll all spend the day hanging out in the jacuzzi and jumping in the pool and talking about something fun and silly while enjoying a great summerlike weekend. Just come on down and hang out around the pool and jacuzzi and enjoy the sunshine (or shade) in my private backyard oasis with good friends, complete with two lava rock fire pits, parklike grounds, pool, jacuzzi, outdoor bar, good music, etc.

It's a great way to celebrate a Summer weekend ! Plan to spend the whole day and evening if you would like!

This event is cross-posted with several other fun Meetup groups of different age groups so we should have a great turnout! Don't count the numbers on just this Meetup group. Last year this party had nearly 150 people in attendance !!

Directions to my home will be provided by Meetup email right after the RSVP deadline of 4pm July 31 (one day before the party) only to those who have RSVPd "YES" before the 4pm deadline on July 31.

I'm planning a trip down to Rosarito over MLK weekend, since most of us have the day off Monday. We did this trip a couple of years ago and had an awesome time! We'll carpool from Costa Mesa and drive down Saturday, late morning. Stay in a large ocean-front suite (2 ppl per room) Sat & Sun nights, and then drive back Monday afternoon. You must send payment to adam@elgringoborracho.com via Paypal when you RSVP, which covers the cost of the hotel (for both nights) and gas/driving to/from Rosarito. The cost is $170 per person (for a suite), or $135 per person for a regular room. I highly recommend the suite- it's worth the extra money for the extra space and better location.

The hotel has 2 swimming pools (one is an infinity pool overlooking the ocean), 3 jacuzzis, a spa, a restaurant, a sports bar, free WiFi, and some fabulous views of the coastline. Every room has a fireplace (suites only) and a patio or balcony with an ocean-front view.

We'll head down to Puerto Nuevo one night for some shopping and a lobster dinner, and we'll head into downtown Rosarito and/or Tiujana one night (depending on what everyone wants to do) for some nightlife.

FAQ

Is Rosarito safe? yes. I have been many times over the years and never had a problem. Those who are afraid of the drug cartel violence simply don't know what they are talking about- the violence is only in certain areas. They do not target American tourists, and the violence does not affect the tourist areas. However, if you try to buy drugs from a guy in a dark, sketchy part of Tiujana one night and then refuse to pay him, then you may encounter some violence.

What does the cost include? The cost is per person, based on double occupancy (2 people per room). It includes cost of the hotel and transportation. It does not include food, drinks, etc.

Who will I room with? If you are coming alone, then we will set you up with a same-sex roommate who is also going on the trip.

When do I have to pay? Your reservation is not confirmed until you pay. Merely RSVPing on this page does not confirm your reservation. The prices may go up, if the hotel increases its rates. You are encouraged to submit your payment as soon as possible.

How do I use Paypal? You must go to www.paypal.com (http://www.paypal.com/) to submit your payment. Once you login, just click on "Send Money". Send your payment to adam@elgringoborracho.com and select "I'm sending money to family or friends." There are no additional fees if you have linked your Paypal account to your bank account. However, Paypal will charge you a $5.25 fee if you use a credit card instead.
