For three decades I have done whatever is the "Advanced Technology" of the time, e.g. Expert Systems, Smalltalk, Java, and Ruby on Rails. My company currently focuses on WordPress Multisite and BuddyPress. I used these technologies to set up the initial configuration of NYCGA.net for OccupyWallStreet.
NeighborSquad can end Cable and Satellite bills with a combination of shared wi-fi internet and HD Broadcast TV antennas. If 100,000 people in NYC were to cancel their cable, then $6 million a month or more that leaves neighborhoods today could stay in local neighborhoods. NYC is ripe for change with well over 50 TV Broadcast channels. The cable companies hoodwinked people into thinking they had to buy a connection when we changed from analog to digital, but an HD antenna can be built for a couple of dollars in electrical parts, along with recycled coat hangers and scrap wood. Have a technical problem? Dial NeighborSquad and text messages will find the closest member “service people,” who can walk over to help you with connection issues and Internet education. For teens this is the promise of a 21st Century paper route, but with an educational ladder to skills building. We also plan more advanced services and program expansion into various neighborhood related needs.

I am excited to be reaching a point in history where entrepreneurship doesn't have to create negative externalities to produce profit.
