Campfire: How to Sell the Value of Social Media to people who don't get it
Details
Social Media Campfire is for and by Social Media Professionals who come together to discuss Social Media. This is a higher level discussion for people who work in or with Social Media. Think about sitting at a campfire where you have natural conversations, sharing stories and enjoy spending time with friends. That is what our Social Media Campfires are all about.
Social Media Campfire is: "Content over Tools", we have a focus on Social Media Strategies, results and how we can achieve them.
Every meeting we have a theme and a guest and we can ask any and all questions about their best practices in social media, their challenges, what tools they use, etc.
This months guest is: Niklas Myhr
Niklas Myhr is the Assistant Professor of Marketing; he teaches and conducts research at the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in the areas of Internet & Social Media Marketing, Global Marketing, and Sustainable Supply Chain Management. Dr. Myhr holds a Ph.D. from the Darden School at the University of Virginia and has also taught at American University and at Tulane University.
In 2011 he was ranked number 6 on a list of the 50 Most Social Media Savvy Professors in America.

Selling social media to businesses that do not use social media yet can be a tough sell. And is one of the frustrations frequently discussed at Social Media Campfires.
Niklas shares the value of social media with new audiences every day teaching at Chapman University to a wide and varied audience, including executive management. He understands how social media professionals can effectively communicate the value of seemingly trivial social media communications to reluctant, skeptical executives, relatives, users, etc. This is about content, but also about communication styles, formats, and relationship building.
Join us on Tuesday and ask Niklas Myhr your questions.
