Details
This is a slightly different type of Meetup, but fellow scientist Dan would love some help with general volunteering, workshops and talks at an upcoming STEM Career Fair for SFUSD High School. I thought a Meetup posting was probably the most efficient megaphone!
I'll post all of the necessary information/details below, but please reach out to Dan if interested.
Need help in one of these three things:
- Staff an ongoing station where students (who come by as they please) talk with you and have the chance to try something hands-on (i.e., some sort of activity), or at least get to look at/touch interesting things (e.g., instrument prototypes, etc). 2. Run a hands-on workshop (one that repeats at least once). These workshops should last 30-60 minutes and be really hands-on. A "Maker" like workshop is a great idea (e.g., making stereo speakers out of paper plates was one we did last year). 3. Give a 20-30 minute presentation (one that repeats at least once). Last year the Exploratorium did their cow eye dissection presentation (once in the AM and again in the PM) and it was a huge hit! Please email Dan if you think you'd like to contribute! ^I hope that's ok that I shared!!
