Learn Mesos with minimesos

Workshop Details

This course will teach the basics of working with Apache Mesos by using minimesos: the experimentation and testing tool for Mesos.

We'll explain the fundamental concepts and ideas behind Apache Mesos and get you running your own minimesos cluster and deploy frameworks.

Frank Scholten

Frank is Senior Software Engineer at Container Solutions. He created minimesos while working on Mesos Elasticsearch in order to make framework testing easier, has worked
on many software development projects and contributes to Open Source projects.

Viktor Sadovnikov

Viktor is in software development industry for more than 20 years. Having an extensive hands-on experience in various platforms and languages, he started to specialise in automation of building, testing, deployment and monitoring of applications before terms of Continuous Integration and Delivery became widely accepted.

We kick off the workshop with an introduction to Mesos and minimesos

Demos

We will demonstrate how to use minimesos cli commands

Exercises

Work through focused exercises like starting a minimesos cluster, running a container on Marathon and deploying a framework.

Experimentation

Try out minimesos for your own purposes and and ask questions

Wrap up

Finally we discuss what we learned, do a short Q&A and have some beers!
