The Software of the Rooftop Revolution

Well it's finally time for another installment of SWRE!! And this one is going to be a good one.

For this event we'll have a guest speaker: Danny Kennedy, Founder and President of Sungevity and author of the new book "Rooftop Revolution". Danny will be presenting "The Software of the Rooftop Revolution".

Danny has been involved as both an activist and entrepreneur, always fighting against dirty energy interests, or as he calls it, Ol' King CONG (Coal, Oil, Nukes, natural Gas). He will speak about the coming "Solar Ascent" which is already underway and we'll all have a front-row seat for over the next few years. He'll also likely touch on how we can all play a part in it, and how we can leverage our skills and interests in merging SW and the RE industry to most quickly facilitate the ascent! I had the chance to hear Danny speak before and I can ensure you that you won't want to miss it.

His company, Sungevity, is leading the way in terms of the development of clever SW solutions to the hurdles of residential solar installations.

I'm nearly done with it now and I can say that it's an exciting and impassioned call to action for all of us who are so interested in the adoption of renewable energy technologies. I especially have enjoyed the coverage of all of the new jobs which have already been created through the revolution... these are jobs that quite a few of us already hold and they are just the tip of the iceberg (hint, hint... for those of you wanting to jump into the RE industry).

I'm glad to say that we'll be holding this meeting up in SF again! The last few meetings had been down in South Bay... but I don't want you city dwellers to feel left out!

As always, there will be dinner and drinks as well as time for discussions and networking.
