Hi !

Trying a new thing (because trying out is good, right? ).

Let's have a good brainstorm/ "philosophical" discussion without pre-conceived ideas on a specific topic.

Any points, arguments, examples, positives, negatives, feelings, assumptions , benefits, risks etc.. are encouraged.

We want to get out of that discussions a balanced view of the topic with any suggestions on how we would improve it.

Topic: Testing Standards

ISO29119 triggered a lot of discussions and reactions. (http://softwaretestingstandard.org/

http://www.ministryoftesting.com/2014/08/iso-29119-debate/) While we might not have read it, it does spring the question of having Testing Standards.

So.

Do we need Testing Standards or not ? Why? What are the benefits, disadvantages and risks of having such standards?

What would it looks like? What would it contains?

What would we like it to contain?

What would we like to have instead?

Please note: This is NOT a "pro" vs "anti" ISO29119 debate. It's a open-minded discussion without preconceived ideas. If you're not comfortable at the idea of hearing things against your views, please don't attend this meeting.
Respect each other's.
