We are a motley yet friendly group of pro, "seasoned" and aspiring songwriters in the Twin Cities area who meet to perform/share songs for fun and feedback, participate in songwriting worshops and professional/development presentations in a relaxed, supportive format similar to the NY Songwriters Guild.

Our basic offerings include monthly songwriters "working sessions", ususally on the 2nd Thursday of each month, and an acoustic open mic public performance/showcase usually on the third Thursday of each month.

Check our meetup schedule to discover our classes and additional special events!

Troubadours & Songwriters who work in all song styles and genres are welcome (i.e. singer-songwriter, rock, pop, folk, country, R&B, alternative, etc). Looking forward to seeing and hearing  from you!

Songwriter Circle members and guests please note our group's policy:

Sharing songs in the Songwriters Circle is "Round-Robin"--

that is, each writer presents one song at a time for group feedback.

If we are able to complete a "full round" of writers wanting to share a song, and there is time available, people will have the opportunity to present a second song. If there are songs which are collaborations between two or more writers, those writers can present songs "back to back"-- however, so that group members can appreciate, digest and offer feedback, there needs to be some time in between songs for members to comment immediately after each presented song.

This song sharing policy is modeled after member meetings of the Songwriters Guild in NY (the "Trade Association" of professional songwriters) .

If you would like to share a song in the Songwriters Circle, please take note of and respect this policy. Thank you!

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
