What instrument(s) do you use to write your music?

Mostly I hear things in my head first, and from there I might move to piano, guitar, or hammered dulcimer to work out the details.

What comes easier for you - words or music?

Usually both pop into my head together.

Do you imagine yourself or someone else performing your songs?

Mostly myself, but if Rihanna or Janelle Monae wanted to include one of my songs on their next album, I would not object. :P

Are you interested in collaboration or finding a songwriting partner?

If the right person came along, you bet! I have done some collaborations in the past, but haven't really found someone I clicked with enough to make a regular songwriting partner.

What areas of your music experience are you wanting to improve? e.g. songwriting, marketing, networking, recording, airplay, gigs, etc.

How to market the songs, where to present them, and how to define/promote the songs and myself to the right audience.

I write in a few different genres such as pop, rock, folk, and am trying dance/electronic/industrial.

What Kimberly N. is saying about this Meetup Group

This is a great group full of talented songwriters. There are a variety of ways to connect with others, share ideas, and explore the various aspects of being a songwriter and performer in Seattle and the surrounding area. Everyone is helpful and encouraging, and it's a very active and dynamic group. I dig it!
