Still Photography Workshop - Using Zeiss lenses for Dance Photography - 3

One more time. We've run this twice so far and have added a third night. If you attended either of the first two sessions please leave this session for other photographers.

Dance photography is one of the most beautiful forms of photography, combining the artist behind the camera and the art of dance itself. Working with dancers from York University's Dance Program we hope to create some beautiful art at the studio at Sony of Canada's head office.

Great photography demands great lenses and Zeiss makes some of the greatest lenses on the market. This is a chance to try the greatest lenses on your Sony camera. We'll have all the Zeiss lenses available for this evening workshop including the three lenses for the A7R, the four lenses for the NEX e-mount and of course all the lenses for the A-mount cameras. The studio is large enough to shoot full body shots with lenses as long as the 85mm and even the 135mm prime. Bring your own Sony camera, extra memory cards and extra batteries, we'll have the Zeiss lenses for you to use and Sony staff will be on hand to answer questions about your photography and help you create great dance images.  You don't have to own a Sony camera to attend this event but you do have to use one at the event, so Nikon and Canon users are invited. If you don't have a Sony camera to use, let me know and I'll arrange one for you.

We will also have the new SAL70200G2 F2.8 in the a-mount and expect to have the[masked] for the E-mount full frame as well. This lens isn't even out yet.

Attendance and "No Shows". If you can't make the event please cancel 24 hours before the start of the event. If you fail to cancel you'll be recorded as a "No Show" and if this continues, you'll be dropped from future events.

Excellent workshop last night. It was exactly as advertised. I was able to try out different Zeiss lenses which is what I wanted to do as I build out my A7 collection. It was also very helpful to meet other Sony users and get their valuable insights. Thanks to all at Sony who were so very helpful and special thanks to Rob Skeoch for arranging a great event.

Excellent workshop last night. Lots of time to use the lenses, and take shots of the lovely ladies who were so accommodating to each of us. Huge thanks to Rob and Isabelle who are there to answer all our questions and are so willing to teach. Thanks again Sony to a very successful night.

Great! Thanks for organizing this once again. I got a boatload of images to look through from lenses that otherwise I would have never used before.

It goes to the person I pick from the Waiting List. If I let meetup.com pick the next person if could be someone who made the list but has a number of "no shows". If you have "no shows" then I move on down the list. Also some people say they're really interested in one type of photography or another. So I move people who say they like photojournalism into those events instead of more general workshops.

When a spot becomes available, does it go to the next person on the waiting list or does it go to the next person who happens to click on the JOIN button after someone vacates a spot?

I'm looking forward to using the FE 70-200. It just received very good reviews by SLR & DXO. Should be ideal focal range for photographing dancers.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
