What we’re about
Drawing comics is hard and lonely, but hopefully it doesn't have to be? I just started drawing a webcomic, and would love to do so in the company of other cool comickers! That way we can make silly faces together and commiserate over all the challenges of comicking -- the darn panel or dialogue that won't behave, the tedium of drawing the 50th chair, and why aren't there good reference images for this? I haven't been able to find anything in the South Bay, and driving to SF is too hard on a weeknight. If the same is true for you, you should join us!
We meet every Thursday night in Mountain View. (It's about a 25 min drive from San Jose, Fremont, and Burlingame, respectively). For those, we usually work on our own stuff while making jokes. Usual Thursday attendance is anywhere from 2-8 people.
Sometimes we also have more event-specific Sunday afternoon meetups. I always make sure to announce those.
We also have a mailing list! https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/southbay-comickers
We also made a website! http://sbaycomics.com
And we made an anthology last year that you can find here: http://sushux.storenvy.com/collections/126438-all-products/products/13848354-hollow-a-comics-anthology
And now we're working on a new one! :D
