We are a group that gets together for fun activities for kids and moms. Most members live in West Seattle, and so most of our events are held there. But some of us live in other southern regions of Seattle and surrounding areas. And of course, parents from other areas are welcome too.
The majority of our moms have a child who is around 1-3 years old, but many of our events are suitable for kids of all ages.
Do you want to help your child make friends with other children to play and learn together? Or are you a parent who enjoys meeting others and staying active? Then join us and get connected!
Examples of some of our events include: day hikes, walks along the beach or in parks; playdates hosted at our homes, the beach, wading pools, playgrounds or indoor toddler gyms; holiday parties, including Halloween party and trick-or-treating; pumpkin patch and farm visits; our own Easter egg hunt; meetup for lunch or coffee; zoo and museum visits; children's events in the city; indoor rock climbing; craft-making; and jam sessions with the kids [we've got a couple that hosts house concerts and these jam sessions for parents and kids to get involved in music].
All members are invited to host an event, like a playdate at the beach or park. Or post an activity or class in which your child is enrolled to encourage others to enroll. Hosting is a great way to meet other moms and kids (just click on "schedule a new meetup" to post an event). [Please also see our "Pages" section for suggested safety tips.]
You must upload a photo of yourself in order for your membership request to be approved.
A new member and child are required to meet at one of our events with a member of our leadership team within 180 days of joining; otherwise membership will be removed. We don't know who anyone really is on our website until we meet them, and so it helps to guard the safety of everyone if we try to know that members viewing our website content are actually parents with a child.
Please update your attendance status if you RSVP but then can't go, since a host is actually expecting you. The group might inconveniently wait around for you, or supplies might be brought by the host unnecessarily. And to avoid being the only one that actually shows up at an event with few RSVP's, you can post a comment or send a message to the attendees or host to ask for confirmation that they are still going. And if you don't go because you don't get a confirmation, then please update your attendance status.
Please remember that you are solely responsible for yourself and your child in all aspects during our activities. We are a group that just meets up to do things together. Please don't assume that the leader(s) or host(s) of an event has any special skills or knowledge or is responsible for anyone in any activity. And please keep an eye out for your child at all times. They can easily go unsupervised when parents are distracted, such as when parents are having too much fun!
New members must be approved by the Organizer
