Austin-based Wendy Colonna's new release, Nectar, invites listeners to taste the sweetness of life in stories of surrender, mortality and redemption. With her swampy-southern-soulful style, Colonna displays grit, grace and a sense of humor as she shares her journey of a return to innocence. With soulful southern storytelling, the songs on Nectar showcase Colonna's singular vocal abilities with a natural simplicity and authenticity.

Recent highlights of Wendy Colonna’s trajectory include: selection as a Wall Street Journal pick for "Best Music Acts" at SXSW 2014; featured co-vocalist in the Grammy/MusicCares All-Star Showcase; and interviews on both NPR's Beale Street Caravan and WFUV's SundayBreakfast (NYC). Listen for Wendy when you order your next frappuccino. Starbucks has licensed multiple tracks from "Nectar" for in-store play. The San Antonio Express-News has noted the “soulful grit” and “tender-tough abilities” of Wendy’s distinctive southern voice, which the Austin Chronicle describes as “smoky” and “alluring.” Nectar has already found its way into the hearts of Austin's tastemakers, with mentions in the top albums of 2013 in the Austin Chronicle,Austin-American Statesman & more. In 2014, Wendy will be touring in support of Nectar across the U.S. and abroad.

Wendy Colonna has such a gorgeous, soulful voice and her songs are a mix of folk, blues, and mellow jazz culminating in her own unique style. If you haven't heard her yet, I strongly recommend it.
