Yes, we know that 7:45 pm is a weird start time... we're working on a fix.

Note: Because of our late-ish start time and the hard finish time, we start promptly at 7:45 pm Wednesdays. We tend to compress numerous warm-ups and exercises into our two-hour window, have only a quick break mid way, and build up the group's momentum as the night progresses. For those reasons, we strongly recommend that people show up on time--or (even better) 10 minutes early to chat, etc.--especially, if they are new to the meetup.

(From personal experience, for people using 101, I suggest folks avoid crossing the Caltrain tracks at Rengstorff. Instead, cross them via the bridges at Shoreline Blvd. or San Antonio Rd., and then take California Ave. to Rengstorff.)

Improv, the jazz of acting, the free-flowing river of spontaneity empowers us to explore the multiple personalities and characters that each of us is, desires to be, or is curious about. At any given moment, our mood and energy level depend largely upon our perception of our current surroundings.

Improv liberates us most profoundly by reintroducing us to our own imaginative capacity in a way that embraces it. Take a common dull experience like standing in line at the DMV. Instead of drooling on ourselves or counting the number of nose hairs erected on the attendant's face, we can instead imagine, even enact, standing in line to be part of NASA's first ship to Uranus where our Galactical democratic elections are coming to a close. Scifi, drama, comedy, anything works.
