This group was formed in 2007, by a few friends who lived in the South Sound and enjoyed riding motorcycles together. Since that time, many others have decided to joined them.
Over the last few years, we’ve become a self supporting Meet Up group. We pay for this site and other group events from donations made by members at Meet & Greets and other events throughout the year. We also have sponsors who support the group with donations or discounts on services they provide.
For current members, and those wishing to join this group, the governing responsibility for all financial and other decision making for the entire group lies with the Lead Organizer and Co-Organizers, with guidance from the membership being a major influence. By joining or remaining to be a member of South Sound Riders, you understand and agree to this form of leadership of the group.
While anyone is welcome to join the group, and we are generally very friendly, we don't take kindly to being exploited. Anyone joining our group to spam us with advertising or promoting websites, or exploiting our membership for any other reason, will have their membership be promptly deleted.
All members have the opportunity to have their voices heard by attending a monthly Meet-N-Greet and speaking up! Members are also free to send the Lead Organizer or Co-Organizers a private message to discuss group issues or ideas.
Everyone who has a love of motorcycle riding is welcome here. We have riders with a variety of skill levels - so we do a variety of rides catering to those skill levels. Some rides are shorter and some are longer, and we do several overnight rides as well.
Always keep safety in mind, be aware of your skills and come prepared to ride on any road surface or condition. We try not to ride on any gravel roads, but you do need to be prepared for the unexpected. You also need to be able to handle your motorcycle safely in a group on city streets and at highway speeds. Feel to RSVP for any rides that suite your riding skills and interest.
Never let yourself feel pressured to ride out of your comfort zone and always ride within your abilities. If you become uncomfortable and choose to leave a ride, please let other riders know that you are leaving so we don't worry about what happened to you.
We've posted some Group Riding Safety threads here, so please read and watch the video(s). Respect your fellow riders and always ask the questions on your mind - don't be afraid to speak up.
By participating in this group you agree to Meetup.com Terms of Service and Group Riding Rules posted in our “FILES” section. Membership is a privilege and at the discretion of the Organizer.
We have a great group and we hope you enjoy South Sound Riders as much as we have since the founding members got together back in 2007.
