Escape the Heat on Mt. Lemmon

Looks to be another scorcher this weekend. Time to head to the mountains.

We'll start at the Butterfly trailhead, riding trail 1918, up the dirt road to the top of Mt. Bigelow, down Palisades, Organization Ridge out to the wilderness boundary and back, up to Secret trail, and back down 1918 to the cars.

This is not a downhill run. It's probably the closest thing to a cross country ride that Mt. Lemmon offers, with a certain amount of climbing at altitude and some short, technical downhill sections. Most of the the climbing will be on a dirt road; the rest of the ride will be on singletrack. 10.5 miles, 2-3 hours.
