July 2012 Drupal Meetup

Last month. In June, Matt Kleve demonstrated the Relation Module and we discussed the Drupal 8 plans and timelines using Webchick's "One Drupal 8 Slide Deck to Rule Then All". Then, we did Q & A on various "I'm trying to..." issues.

June's meeting. First, Maida Carpio Scott will be presenting on how she learned Drupal on her own in order to launch the new and improved Pueblo City-County Library District website using drupal.org, IRC and meetups.

After Maida's presentation, we've had a request to do a hands-on git tutorial, starting with basic git functions (like creating a git repository), branching, merging, best practices and tools, solutions to common problems. Anyone who uses git on a regularly basis: please bring your experience and be prepared to participate.

As always, we'll be doing Q & A, so bring your problems, challenges and accomplishments so we can all help and share.

Maida's presentation will start shortly after 6:30 pm.

Change in scheduling. We've switched up our scheduling for July to avoid the July 4th holiday. We are meeting on WEDNESDAY, July 11. Some folks said they couldn't make Tuesdays, but they could attend on Wednesdays, so we'll how our attendance changes.

New Location! We are meeting at basement conference room at the Old Colorado City Library. Map and directions at http://www.ppld.org/old-colorado-city-library.

Grabbing a bite. If anyone would like to grab a bite before the meeting in one of the many restaurants in Old Colorado City, please make a comment on our meetup page.

Great Meetup. Nice overview of a site as well as an informative overview of Git and the Features module. Thanks everyone.

Check out sessions & BOF's @ the DrupalCon Munich site. I'll be there and could bring back the greatest hits from anything of interest to the group.
