I'm a writer, a graduate of Odyssey, and editor of New Myths magazine (www.newmyths.com). I'm starting a writer's critique group in Southern Orange County. I'd like to get a group of people serious about improving their fiction (not complete beginners) to meet once a month and critique each other's work. The group would be open to any fiction genre so long as you can produce new work every month for us to critique. The purpose is to motivate us to work harder, to improve our prose, and to have fun.

All interested members must submit a sample of their work (ten pages, double spaced). You won't be admitted unless the current members your level coincides with the group's.

What members are saying

Join this group if you want honest feedback on your writing and motivation to get work done every month.

“I've recently completed a fantasy novel with the proposal. I would like to improve my craft through any critiquing. I also need to network.”

“I write friction and a lot of it. I'm proud to say that I establish where the bottom of this group is and everyone else is higher than I. I would hate to see any and I do mean any new member try to compete for my position.”

“I am a published historian. I began writing fiction and taking writing classes in college. I have a completed "starter' novel manuscript and am working on a second manuscript (half done). My goal is to retire early and write fiction full time.”

“HI Scott, I'm a writer of science fiction (which I noticed you like) and an independent editor (I work for the writers, not a publisher). I'm very serious about my writing and am working on my third novel. My website is www.crayne.com.”
