Spacebrew Goes MAD

We are excited to announce that we are hosting the next Spacebrew workshop and jam at the awesome Museum of Art and Design (http://www.madmuseum.org/) (MAD) in New York. This month's jam session is the first of three workshops that we will be holding at MAD as part of the After the Museum (http://www.madmuseum.org/exhibition/after-museum) exhibit. Find out about the other dates in this series on the Spacebrew blog (http://docs.spacebrew.cc/spacebrewcc/2013/3/10/museum-of-art-and-design-workshops).

Please keep in mind that because of the location where we are holding this workshop, there are a few things that are different about this Jam Session. Most importantly, we have only confirmed that the first 15 people to sign-up will get complimentary entrance; we are hoping to be able extend this offer to everyone who signs up so stay tuned.

Our Plan for the Day

Here is a rough overview of what we have in store for you:

1:00 - 1:30 introductions and quick demos. We will start the workshop with a short overview of what Spacebrew is, and why it was created, followed by a few demos of Spacebrew in action.

1:30 - 3:00 hands on workshop. After the intro we will walk through the basic Arduino and Processing tutorial (http://docs.spacebrew.cc/tutorials/2012/11/14/connecting-arduino-projects-to-spacebrew-using-processing). We will have a few Arduinos and components on hand for people to share. However, we do recommend that you bring your own laptops so that you can follow along.

Feel free to bring your own Arduino and components, the equipment list is available in the "Hardware Needed" section of the tutorial page (http://docs.spacebrew.cc/tutorials/2012/11/14/connecting-arduino-projects-to-spacebrew-using-processing). You can purchase these components at most radio shacks, or online at Adafruit, and Sparkfun.

3:00 - 5:00 hang out, meet people, and work on your own projects. This is the time for you to hang out, work on your own projects, or get to know other people who are interested in making stuff with Spacebrew.

Important Note

Arrive early because the workshop is open to the public. So we won't be able to hold your spot if the room fills up. Though if you were one of the first to sign up you will still get in for free as long as you come before the workshop start time.
