[spanish-917] Starting off the Spanish New Year

!Hola Amigos?

I just returned from San Juan Cosala' in Jalisco, Mexico, yesterday, where I learned a new tradition.  They celebrate Three Kings Day in January.  The Christmas celebration isn't over until Three Kings Day.  "Epiphany, which is called D?a de los Reyes (Three Kings Day)," is this Tuesday.  Celebration traditions likely vary from region to region among the 31 states in Mexico (see the World Fact Book, scroll down to Government:  https://www.cia.gov/library/publications/the-world-factbook/print/mx.html and Wikipedia:  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_of_Mexico)

For more in-depth info on Three Kings Day you might skim a few of the following links:
Both times I've been in Mexico at New Year's, there have been New Year's Celebrations:
There are sooo many more links with good info available for the above topics...

Subject: [spanish-917] Starting off the Spanish New Year

Well, there really isn't a Spanish New Year, but new years are times of renewals and resolutions. So, for those who enjoy the language but haven't been to a Meetup in a while, this might be a perfect time to start your year off with a resolution to make 2009 the year to significantly improve your language skill. It really just takes the decision to start. So, let's start together! Hope to see you on Monday at Panera Bread in Kent.
