How about back to back SF Spanish Meetups? A few of us decided to watch the Chilean movie "No" starring Gael Garcia Bernal (yes, he's Mexican) and decided to extend the invitation to the group. I hope that many of you watched it during its opening weekend!
We will meet this coming Saturday, March 9 at 6:30, in the lobby area nearest to the ticket booth. This will allow for some conversations in Spanish, time to purchase tickets (if not done so already) and snacks. The movie begins at 7PM; tickets are $10.50 each. The movie is nearly 2 hours so we could move our group to someplace nearby to discuss the film over food and drinks. More details to come later regarding the before and after movie activities...
For those who would like to get a drink after the movie, our options are limited due to the area we are in. We basically have two options. First, we could go to Elephant & Castle on 424 Clay St. between Battery St & Sansome St. Or we could head over to the Irish Times on 500 Sacramento St. between Sansome St & Leidesdorff St. Both places close at midnight or later, serve food, and are only a few blocks away from the theater.
Regarding the seating at the theater, I will not attempt to sit us all together since I don't know what the crowd will be like (Meetup members + non-Meetup members). The theater itself is first come first serve. I've attended movie Meetup events in other groups and this is the norm; so find a group of people to sit with.
Parking: streetside, and the same Embarcadero building that houses the Landmark offers free 4 hours of validated parking.
