6:35 pm - 7:05 SAP Hana Vora by Stephan Kessler: Extending Spark with an integrated business computation framework

In a typical enterprise landscape we find a large number of different data sources in different data formats and with different computational capabilities. One key factor for extracting value out of those data sources is to bring them together and extend it with external sources. We integrated SAP HANA Vora in Apache Spark to cover exactly those cases and enable Spark to access enterprise data sources and their features. In this talk we will show how SQL, OLAP, time-series, graph, document store working in an unified framework to enable mission critical industry use cases. The solution makes it simple to use computational capabilities of data sources and combine results.

In particular we will cover the following:

1. How SparkSQL extensions can be used for analyzing enterprise data

2. Simple way to combine multiple engines for consumption through existing business applications

3. Provide seamless integration into Apache Spark
