Nature of the Ego

We gather together by the Grace of God,

in the name of Dr. David R. Hawkins, who states:

"The pathway I teach is what I call Devotional Nonduality.

Devotion means one's love takes the form of the love for the discernment of the Truth above all else.

Devotional because one is in love with the Truth, one is in love with the Pathway to God through Truth.

Devotion to Truth means the willingness to surrender anything and everything to God as it arises."

All Glory be to Thee O Lord,

and welcome to the Devotional Nonduality Group.

"This group is aligned with and devoted to the teachings of Dr. David R. Hawkins. The intent for the group is to serve as a vehicle of Divine Will, an opportunity to keep holy company. and to support our advancement of consciousness in service of God, humanity, and the Self."

The topic for today's meeting is "The Nature of the Ego". We will read, share, and discuss together on this topic drawing inspiration from Dr. Hawkins book "Dissolving the Ego, Realizing the Self".

"The progress of consciousness is facilitated by an awareness of the evolutionary nature of the ego and its structure."

"The world of the ego is like a house of mirrors through which the ego wanders, lost and confused, as ii chases the images in one mirror after another. Human life is characterized by endless trials and errors hile attempting to escape the maze."

"Realization is a progressive process. Spiritual progress is hastened by understanding the true nature of the ego. It is not an enemy to be attacked or defeated, nor is it an evil to be vanquished. It is dissolved by compassionate understanding."

"Survival is a consequence of the Self, not the self. It is only because of the Self that the ego is of service for a prescribed period of earthly time. When the ego/mind is silenced, life goes on autonomously, paradoxically even seeing effort as effortless. All comes about as a consequence of potentiality's emerging as actuality when conditions permit. Intention is such a condition. Eventually, even intention subsides as the will is surrendered to God." pg. 224

"All is intrinsically worshipful as a consequence of the conscious awareness of the Presence of God as Creation in its most minute details. All is Holy and Sacred, as evidenced by its splendor as Existence itself. Therefore, all things are seen as sacred and holy; all things 'both large and small' are sacred; thus,Gloria in Excelsis Deo!" pg. 230

Our study group relies on the donations of its members for rent, insurance, library maintenance etc. If you feel moved to donate, $10 per person would be more than sufficient. Please do your best to arrive on time. If you feel you may be running more than 30 minutes late, you can send the organizer a message via text at 973-941-5773.
