December 2011 "Space of Love Day" #2

Hi Everyone,

I know its early but a couple of people have been asking, so I thought I'd schedule the December 2011 "Space of Love Day" now!

We created "Space of Love Day" as an alternative to Christmas Day. On this day we celebrate being with friends and family in our current Space of Love, sharing veg food and natural spring water, getting away from this societies' obsession with consumerism, unhealthy food and living and we exchange gifts that are 2nd hand or hand made, instead of bought.

If everyone could bring a vegetarian / vegan / raw vegan dish to share, we will have a vegetarian Xmas like dinner at 6pm. We've moved into a bigger house, so this year we can fit 40 people. Bring your swimmers too, as we have a pool!

As an alternative to buying gifts but to retain the spirit of giving, we thought that anyone interested could put forth their name, then we'd do a 'secret santa' type thing, but no gifts are to be bought, so you either make something or give something you already have.

Here's some ideas:

1. Something 2nd hand of your own
2. Something you've made or grown
   e.g. magazines, books, plants, seedlings, tools, clothes, DVDs, CDs etc.

For the kids, perhaps they could bring an old toy, DVD or book to give?

Everyone who brings a gift will have their name placed in a hat. They then randomly choose a name and give their gift to that person. If you don't like it, we can do some swapping.

Also, to avoid using disposal plates & utensils, it would be great if you could please bring your own plates and cutlery.
