The A14 Informal Networking Group (https://www.meetup.com/A14-Coffee-Morning-Weekly-Business-Networking-in-St-Ives/), Huntingdonshire Business Network (https://www.meetup.com/Huntingdonshire-Business-Network/) and St Ives Business Lounge (http://www.cambridgebusinesslounge.com/locations/st-ives-business-lounge/), are coming together at La Cucina in St Ives, for a joint networking evening, to raise money for the Mayor of St. Ives’ chosen Charities - the Dementia Café and Memory Lane Singalong Café, and the 2nd St. Ives Sea Scouts.

On Thursday 5th November at 7 pm La Cucina, on Station Road, St. Ives, will open its doors to local businesses, offering a free glass of wine on arrival and a chance to sample some of the delicious antipasti that it serves.

This is a great opportunity for people from local businesses to get together for an informal night of networking and sampling some fantastic food and wines. And of course it has the added benefit of raising money for some really worthwhile local charities.

The Dementia Café is run by the Alzheimer’s Society and takes place at the Free Church, Market Hill, St. Ives, on the third Tuesday of every month between 10 am and 12 pm, while the Memory Lane Singalong Café is run at the Crossways Christian Centre, Ramsey Road, on the second Monday of every month, also from 10am until 12 pm.

The Mayor of St. Ives, Cllr Ian Jackson, said, “I am delighted to endorse this initiative in encouraging networking among fledgling independent businesses in our town and around. Mutual support is vital and new businesses are the life blood of our economy. As our Council supports you, I hope you will be able to support my fund-raising efforts as much as you can.” He added, “However, I don’t want just to assist Dementia volunteer groups financially – I want to help create a more Dementia-friendly environment here in St Ives as a lasting legacy. I also want to help the Sea Scouts achieve their aim of improving their facilities to offer wider activities to more youth groups.” It is hoped that the funds raised from this event will help to realise these aims, by raising money and awareness for such important local charities.

With a nominal charge of £5 per person (collected on the door), all of which will be donated to the chosen charities, it promises to be an entertaining and rewarding evening.
