Development Decision Points - Android Game Development and lessons learned

Wes Ehrlichman will give a talk on the decisions that led to developing a game for Android using the standard Android SDK, the approach that was used, and an overview of the SDK basics. Hopefully this will give some insight into the decisions developers make when approaching a project, and help you to make the right decision for your own projects.

This meetup will also include a meet and greet, and time for individuals to make short (2-minute) game pitches.

Great stuff. What was the name of the platform for hosting objects called? The one with the free plan? I didn't write it down and now I want to play with it.

parse FTW. If anybody's got an alternative that I should also be looking at, lemme know. For geo-located game thing-a-majigger.

I missed whoever asked about Test First Development; let me know if you would like more information or if I can prepare something to show the group. I used to educate developers the benefits of this approach at an IT firm in St. Louis.

I didn't ask the question, but I'd enjoy a talk on the ins and outs of Test-Driven Development. You could cover the benefits and some best practices. I don't think it matters as much which language you use to present as long as the logic is simple enough to follow.

Great discussions last night! There were several people interested in Windows 8 game development. I'd be happy to deliver a presentation on the subject.

Man I was too mesmerized by the sliding glass doors in the meeting room. I'm going to close them fully on the next meetup.

I updated the description to better reflect the talk I'm planning on giving. It will cover the Android SDK.

I started the group because there wasn't any other type of group like this. I've met some great folks in the group who have become close friends and have also met some amazing business owners.
